The Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE), which represents more than 700,000 European lawyers through its members Bars and Law Societies of the European Union and the European Economic Area, supports the opening of the European Judicial Network in civil and commercial matters to the legal professions. 

The International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI) and the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) commend the significant efforts made by the Polish Government, since its election in October 2007, to improve the standard of the rule of law in Poland. Notwithstanding this improvement, an IBAHRI-CCBE report published today identifies issues requiring immediate attention to restore the rule of law in Poland fully.

The Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE), representing more than 700,000 European lawyers through its member bars and law societies of the European Union and the European Economic Area, has welcomed with great satisfaction the decision given today by the French Conseil d’Etat - the highest administrative court in France - regarding the challenges mounted by the French Bar and the CCBE against the implementation of the second money-laundering directive in France1.
